In this inspiring setting, where nature can be experienced in its purest form, the founder Erb. Dipl. Dr. Joseph Franz discovered his fascination with the wonders of the plant world at a young age.

Initially, Dr. Joseph Franz decided to study economics. However, a sports injury brought him back to his passion for nature. After his accident, he began to dedicate himself to his passion for plant-based active ingredients and studied at the pharmacological university in Urbino. He also deepened his knowledge abroad and engaged intensively with naturopathy. His enhanced knowledge of nature’s healing power helped him relieve his pain and even avoid surgery.

With inexhaustible curiosity and profound knowledge of plant-based active ingredients, he revolutionized the industry in 1986 by developing the world’s first Hightech Natural Cosmetics®. At a time when the concept of “clean” skincare was still new and unexplored, he laid the foundation for sustainable, tested, and certified natural cosmetics, for which the brand is now known. Erb. Dipl. Dr. Joseph Franz began back then with the production of rinse-off products refined with essential oils.

Subsequently, Dr. Franz began to focus intensively on gemstone cosmetics and quantum biology in cosmetics. In collaboration with Professor Senekowitsch from the University of Graz, he developed an innovative project that combined the principles of holistic natural cosmetics with the insights of quantum science. This creative phase allowed him to engage with a variety of interdisciplinary topics and make exciting discoveries about plant-based active ingredients. The combination of his extensive knowledge and cosmetic expertise formed the foundation for the Team Dr. Joseph brand, which he still passionately and dedicatedly advances today.

Every gram of plastic used in the products is offset by collecting and recycling an equivalent gram of plastic from the ocean or nature. As part of the Green Future Project, Team Dr. Joseph measures its CO² footprint and actively engages in biodiversity protection by planting a mangrove seedling in Madagascar for every order.

The formulations of Team Dr. Joseph combine pure natural raw materials from wild harvesting or organic cultivation and biotechnologically optimized plant ingredients with proven effectiveness with advanced biotechnological processes to guarantee outstanding results for the skin. Additionally, Team Dr. Joseph uses osmotically purified mountain spring water, which is freed from impurities through reverse osmosis. This reduces the need for preservatives, as pure raw materials and clean water naturally promote shelf life.
