Initially, Joseph Franz decided to study business. But a sports injury brought him back to his passion for nature. After his injury, he began dedicating himself to his passion for plant-based active ingredients and studied at the pharmacological university in Urbino. He deepened his knowledge abroad and engaged intensively with naturopathy. His advanced understanding of nature’s healing power helped him relieve his pain and even avoid surgery.

With inexhaustible curiosity and profound knowledge of plant-based active ingredients, he revolutionized the industry in 1986 by developing the world’s first Hightech Natural Cosmetics®. At a time when the concept of “clean” skincare was still new and unexplored, he laid the foundation for the sustainable, tested, and certified natural cosmetics for which the brand is known today. Dr. Joseph Franz began by producing rinse-off products refined with essential oils.

Subsequently, he began to engage intensively with gemstone cosmetics and quantum biology in cosmetics. In collaboration with Professor Senekowitsch from the University of Graz, he developed an innovative project that combined the principles of holistic natural cosmetics with the insights of quantum science. This creative phase allowed him to explore a variety of interdisciplinary topics and make exciting discoveries about plant active ingredients. The combination of his extensive knowledge and cosmetic expertise formed the foundation for the Team Dr Joseph brand, which he still passionately and devotedly advances today.
