Alpha-Bisabolol for sensitive skin

Bisabolol or alpha-bisabolol is a natural component in the essential oil of true chamomile. Less commonly, bisabolol is extracted from the wood of the candai tree. Bisabolol is very well tolerated, has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and is therefore often used for irritation and sensitive skin. Dry or blemished skin also benefits from its soothing and healing properties. Alpha-bisabolol acts on melanocyte receptors to reduce irritation reactions, which can lead to a decrease in melanin synthesis. This process can reduce skin pigmentation and result in a brightening effect.
