Waekura
Modern, high-quality jewelry for every woman. Mélissa Artis, founder of Waekura.
Waekura founder Mélissa Artis has always had a passion for elegant jewelry. During her online commerce studies, she started buying and selling jewelry from her student apartment. To ensure style and quality standards, she quickly founded her own brand in 2017. And what is the story behind the brand name Waekura? The word means "flamingo" in Maori. It is a name that fits her designs, which combine femininity and elegance and invite the wearer on a journey of discovery.
Waekura stands for high-quality jewelry made from recycled materials. Mélissa Artis and her team design trendy pieces in their Paris office that they would buy themselves. But unlike fashion jewelry, Waekura’s pieces are distinguished by high quality – they are made to accompany you daily and for a lifetime.
The Waekura team is full of energy and creativity – with an average age of only 27, young employees shape the future of the brand. Inspired by their pioneering spirit, the concept of charms was also created. With the small pendants for earrings, you can express your individual style and, in a truly sustainable way, give hoops from your own collection a style update.
The jewelry from Waekura is made from recycled brass in Spain, China, France, or Germany and is finally gold-plated with 3 microns through an electrolysis process in France. This ensures that all pieces are water-resistant, weatherproof, hypoallergenic, and do not tarnish. This creates jewelry that is not only beautiful but also durable and suitable for everyday wear – For today's modern woman.
