Ginger Tonic FR/2018 smells like the first sip from a very cold glass: bitter, fizzy, with a brief sweet flash. Aldehydic top notes give the opening a bright, clean sharpness and make the composition seem to crackle on the skin. Here they are not classically powdery or waxy, but clean, slightly metallic, and almost ice-cold.

Grapefruit appears through its bitter, aromatic peel. The gin-&-tonic accord brings juniper and the dry bitterness of tonic water into play. Together with the aldehydes, this creates a sparkling clarity that distinguishes Ginger Tonic from an ordinary citrus or ginger fragrance.

In between, an unusual melon note flashes through. A.N OTHER calls it “Melon Pop Rocks”—an allusion to fizzy popping candy. It comes across as fruity, lightly sweet, and deliberately somewhat artificial.

Application

• Spray the Eau de Parfum from a distance of approximately 15–20 cm onto warm areas of skin such as the neck, wrists, inside of the elbows, or behind the ears.
• Do not rub your wrists together after application so that the individual fragrance stages can develop as faithfully as possible.
• Start with two to three sprays. Grapefruit, melon, and gin & tonic are initially more prominent, while juniper, lavender, and metallic musk become more pronounced over time.
• Perfume often lasts longer on well-moisturized skin. For this purpose, it is best to use an unscented body moisturizer.
• Juniper, lavender, amberwood, and musk may remain noticeable on clothing for longer. Test delicate or light-colored fabrics on an inconspicuous area first.
• Keep away from heat and direct sunlight.
