Known as the "mother of all herbs," it has been revered and used as one of the most powerful herbs for thousands of years. Interesting fact: In Harry Potter, mugwort is mixed into the "Potion of Living Death."
• Elderberry calms and reassures us with its aromatic, slightly sweet scent. It creates a positive atmosphere full of trust. Elderberry was once so highly valued that people would even tip their hats to it. The shrub was considered a home pharmacy, and for a long time, cutting it down was punishable by law.
• Mallows are protective and soothing both in herbal medicine and as incense herbs. The delicate purple flowers calm our mind, help us focus, and bring balance.

Ritual

• Incense is one of the oldest rituals in human history. On every continent and at all times, people have used the burning of plant parts to create specific effects and emotions. Incense was part of daily rituals but also connected to special celebrations, life events, or seasonal festivals.
• How do I incense? Light the tip of the incense bundle, let it burn briefly, then blow out the flame. Now a glowing ember forms. Keep the ember alive by providing air—gently wave it in the air or blow on it. To extinguish, stick it in sand or let it burn out. Then ventilate well and let new energy in.
• What else do I need? A fireproof bowl or plate to catch the ash so it doesn’t fall on the floor. Take five minutes before and after incense to fully focus on the ritual.
