Ritual

• Smudging is one of the oldest rituals in human history. On every continent and at all times, people have used the burning of plant parts to create specific effects and emotions. Smudging was part of daily rituals but also connected to special celebrations, life events, or seasonal festivals.
• Lighting: Light the tip of the smudge bundle with a candle for about 20 seconds, then extinguish the flame once an ember has formed. Keep the ember alive by providing air—gently wave it in the air or blow on it.
• Ritual: Set an intention and slowly move the bundle back and forth. If you want to cleanse a specific room, walk through it while doing so.
• Ending: Let the bundle burn out on a fireproof dish and ventilate the room well. Hello, new energy!
• What else do I need? A fireproof dish or plate to catch the ashes. Take five minutes before and after smudging to fully focus on the ritual.

All bundles were hand-harvested, tied, and gently dried on a small organic farm in southern Germany.

Size of the smudge bundles: The bundles measure approximately 12.5 cm to 13.5 cm in length and 3.3 cm to 3.8 cm in diameter. Each bundle is enough for about 20 smudging rituals.
