• Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) is a vital mushroom that most commonly grows on tree trunks in northern regions. Among the indigenous peoples of North America, Chaga is brewed as a peace and welcome drink.
• Dandelion root is also a classic native alternative and was formerly consumed as Muckefuck.

This wild alternative to beans tastes mild and not as acidic as an espresso. Yet it contains roasted aromas that make it taste similar to filter coffee. The Chaga mushroom gives it a slight cocoa note.

Usage

• Boil one measuring spoon (3g) with (plant-based) milk briefly in a pot. Froth and enjoy warm. Also ideal as a baking ingredient, in smoothies, or as a wild addition to bean coffee. Simply mix 50/50 with regular coffee for this.
