• The biomimetic Pentapeptide-5, based on a sea anemone protein, helps soothe sensitive skin and relieve irritation. The peptide can inhibit the pain receptor TRPV1, which is often responsible for sensitive skin. The venom of the leather sea anemone consists of proteins and peptides that interact with a variety of cellular targets. Scientists recently discovered a small protein called APHC1 in the leather anemone venom, which contributes to inhibiting TRPV1 receptors in cells. Sensitive skin is often characterized by overactivity of the pain receptor TRPV1. The result is skin that reacts strongly to harmless environmental stimuli with itching or even burning and redness.
• Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis) soothes irritation and promotes healing. It helps with itching and protects the skin from environmental influences. It also supports the skin’s moisture balance. Very suitable for sensitive skin; also recommended for atopic dermatitis or eczema-prone skin. Even effective for acne or impure, inflamed skin. Also an effective ingredient in hair care.
