Application

• First, read: Before using your Leaf Shave razor, please read these instructions. If you have questions about changing blades, using, or caring for your razor, contact us before use at info@blanda-beauty.com.
• Insert the blade(s) into the razor:
• Break a traditional double-edge razor blade in half while still in the protective paper.
• Take the two half blades out of the paper and insert the desired number of blades into the razor. To do this, loosen the screw on the back of the head.
• You can now decide how many blades to insert in which position. The top position is the gentlest, and the bottom position is the sharpest. You can adjust the razor to your own needs.
• After inserting the blades, screw the screw back on the back of the head. (Do not overtighten) 
• Enjoy the shave:
• Do not apply extra pressure; let the weight of the razor do the work (don’t press too hard!). If the razor is too aggressive, remove the bottom blade to slow down the shave. Rinse the razor frequently with warm water – both razor and skin should always be moist. Feel your skin to find spots you may have missed and go over them again. For even closer results, repeat the process by shaving against the natural direction of hair growth.
• Aggressiveness of the shave from super gentle to maximum aggressive:
• top position (1 blade)
• middle position (1 blade)
• top position, middle position (2 blades)
• bottom position (1 blade)
• middle position, bottom position (2 blades)
• top position, middle position, bottom position (3 blades)

Take your Time 

Instead of trying to shave as quickly as possible, consider shaving as a small self-care ritual. How about a nice hot shower, a soothing body scrub, and then methodically and carefully shaving so you don’t miss anything. 

• Shower and exfoliate

For an optimal shave, make sure your skin is warm, clean, and preferably freshly exfoliated. After a thorough exfoliation in the shower, shaving becomes super easy.

• Apply shaving oil or soap

Depending on personal preference, use shaving oil or soap to lather the skin well. It’s always best to lather only the area you’re about to shave—step by step, so to speak. If you use shaving oil, it’s best to wash your hands briefly with soap afterward to get a good grip. 

• Do not apply pressure

The razors are made of solid brass and have a nice weight to them. Let the razor glide over the skin without applying extra pressure. A good rule of thumb is to hold the razor at about a 30-degree angle.

• Shave with or against the hair growth?

What works for many:
- Legs: The skin on the legs is not particularly sensitive, and shaving against the hair growth is not a problem. Usually, one pass is enough for a thorough shave.
- Underarms: First shave with the direction of hair growth, then pull the skin taut and do a second pass against the hair growth, but without applying pressure.
- Bikini area: First shave with the direction of hair growth, then once more mostly across the hair growth rather than against it, and of course, do all this without applying extra pressure.

• Keep razor blade clean

After a few passes, rinse the razor head. It’s best to hold the razor head firmly and turn it half a turn to loosen it. Then clean the razor head under the faucet or in a small bowl of water to remove buildup (hair, skin, oil, grease, etc.). Keeping the blade clean and sharp is important to avoid skin irritation.

• Keep blade sharp

A sharp razor blade is key to avoiding irritation and ingrown hairs. It’s best to change the blade after three to four shaves. The cost of blades is low, so frequent replacement is easy. Collect used blades in a small container and dispose of them.
