FL/2018 Parfum

The idea for FL/2018 began with a leather jacket. While developing the fragrance, perfumer Nathalie Benareau thought of her childhood friend Odette, who wore leather with a distinctive nonchalance and was also known for her sense of humor. That memory inspired not a strict leather fragrance, but a composition that repeatedly interrupts dark, elegant notes with something unexpected.

Cotton candy appears in the opening as a finely spun sweetness - less sticky and rich than bright, playful, and slightly nostalgic. Elemi resin counters it with a peppery, citrusy resin note, while saffron already hints at the leather base to come. It smells dry and spicy, with a slightly metallic quality in places.

Brazilian mate tea provides the key link between sweetness and leather. How to use

• Spray the Eau de Parfum from a distance of about 15-20 cm onto warm areas of the skin, such as the neck, wrists, inner elbows, or behind the ears.
• Do not rub your wrists together after applying, so the different stages of the fragrance can develop as true to character as possible.
• Start with two to three sprays. Cotton candy, saffron, and jasmine are more noticeable at first, while leather, labdanum, and amberwood become more prominent over time.
• Perfume often lasts longer on well-moisturized skin. For best results, use an unscented moisturizer.
• On clothing, leather, musk, and resin notes in particular may remain noticeable for longer. Test delicate or light-colored fabrics on an inconspicuous area first.
