What is cellulose acetate?
The combs and hair accessories from Coucou Suzette are made from cellulose acetate. Unlike plastic, resin, or synthetic materials, this material is based on natural and renewable raw materials such as the pulp of fruits and vegetables. Cellulose acetate is produced by reacting cellulose with acetic acid. This relatively new raw material from renewable and natural sources is 100% plant-based and free from animal by-products.
The material is a high-end raw material for premium accessories because cellulose acetate is extremely durable due to its quality and robustness. Cellulose acetate is resource-efficient, environmentally friendly, resilient, not easily broken, and made from renewable, natural, and sustainable raw materials.
