The Barrier Restoring Rich Cream by TEAM DR JOSEPH was specially developed for dry, sensitive, and stressed skin whose natural protective barrier has become unbalanced. Ceramides, olive lipids, jojoba oil, and rice wax help strengthen the skin’s protective lipid layer and help it retain moisture better.

Calendula and edelweiss soothe irritated skin, while rosehip oil and vitamin E complement them with regenerative and antioxidant properties. The rich texture forms a protective layer over the skin, relieves feelings of tightness, and leaves it softer, smoother, and more resilient.

• Ceramides, Olive Lipids & Rice Wax – Ceramides are a natural component of the skin barrier and play a key role in helping the skin retain moisture. Together with the unsaponifiable components of olive oil and protective rice wax, they support the lipid barrier and help reduce transepidermal water loss.

Active ingredients

• Ceramides are lipids (fats) that naturally occur in our skin. They form the basis of our skin’s barrier function. The skin barrier prevents harmful substances from entering the skin and helps keep it well hydrated. A functioning skin barrier is essential for healthy skin. Ceramides reduce the skin’s water loss, also known as TEWL (Trans-Epidermal Water Loss), and protect against environmental stressors, bacteria, and other influences to which the skin is exposed. Ceramides are therefore an effective anti-aging ingredient that also helps keep the skin supple and soft.
• Rice bran wax is a plant-based wax obtained from rice bran. It is a solid, white substance with a high melting point. It forms a protective film on the skin, which preserves moisture and protects the skin from harmful environmental influences, leaving the skin feeling soft and supple.
• Edelweiss (Leontopodium Alpinum (Edelweiss) Extract) is a soothing, anti-inflammatory plant that provides UV protection. Bioavailable phytochemicals such as chlorogenic acid, luteolin, bisabolane derivatives, and beta-sitosterol have antiseptic and antioxidant properties.
• Rosehip seed oil or wild rose oil (Rosa Canina Fruit Oil) is extracted from the fruits of the dog rose and is considered a highly effective plant oil for skin care. The oil is rich in provitamin A, vitamins C and E, minerals, carotenoids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Wild rose oil combats free radicals, promotes skin cell renewal, and helps even out skin tone. The oil promotes collagen production, is well tolerated, and is highly suitable for dry, flaky skin, pigmentation spots, and scars. Blemished skin also benefits from its high content of anti-inflammatory linoleic and linolenic acids.
• The essential rose oil (Rosa Damascena Flower Oil) from the blossoms of the Damask rose has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, circulation-promoting, and cell-regenerating properties. An anti-aging ingredient that smooths the skin.
• Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil) – Its high fatty acid content makes the skin soft, smooth, and resilient. The oil has an antibacterial effect, absorbs quickly, and contains vitamins B and E, minerals, and beta-carotene (provitamin A). It strengthens cell development and regeneration, combats skin aging, and reinforces the skin's natural protective barrier. Also highly suitable for hair and scalp care. Incidentally, jojoba oil is technically not an oil, but a plant wax.
• Calendula / Marigold (Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil / Extract) from the daisy family is particularly known for its anti-inflammatory, soothing, and wound-healing properties. It also promotes collagen formation and helps produce new tissue (an important process in wound healing), while carotenoids strengthen the skin's protective barrier. Very well tolerated and also suitable for baby skin. Secondary plant compounds, known as flavonoids, have an antioxidant effect and protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.
• Rosemary Extract (Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract) – This medicinal plant from the Mediterranean region promotes circulation and has a mild antibacterial effect. Mature skin benefits from its circulation-promoting properties. Rosemary can help restore balance to blemished skin. In hair care, rosemary stimulates blood circulation in the scalp and thereby improves nutrient absorption. It promotes hair growth and regulates sebum production.
• Vitamin E / Tocopherol enables long-lasting moisture retention between the cells.
