How to use

• Dampen cleansed skin or mist on the Hydrating Accelerator.
• Massage one pump of the serum into damp skin using circular motions.
• Note: Recommended for evening use, but it can also be used during the day when sufficient SPF is applied.
• Finish with the Vital Balm Cream.
• Tip: If you have never used retinoids before, apply the oil only every few days during the first week. Then use it more frequently/daily. Retinoids can increase sensitivity to the sun and make you more susceptible to sunburn.

Active ingredients

• Jojoba Oil – Its high fatty acid content makes the skin soft, supple, and resilient. The oil has antibacterial properties, absorbs quickly, and contains vitamins B and E, minerals, and beta-carotene. It supports cell development and protects against bacteria.
• Marula Oil is quickly absorbed by the skin, replenishes lipids, helps retain moisture, and contains valuable nutrients such as Vitamin E (Tocopherol) and Vitamin C, as well as essential fatty acids. Marula Oil is also known for its high antioxidant content.
• Calendula is particularly known for its anti-inflammatory, soothing, and wound-healing properties. It also promotes collagen formation and helps produce new tissue (an important process in wound healing), while carotenoids strengthen the skin barrier. Very well tolerated, also suitable for baby skin. Secondary plant compounds known as flavonoids have antioxidant properties and protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.
• Sea Buckthorn seed oil / Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides fruit / seed oil) is rich in anti-inflammatory omega fatty acids, making it especially beneficial for inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and rosacea. Sea buckthorn is an excellent source of Vitamin A, which increases cell turnover and promotes skin cell renewal. The concentration of Vitamin C in this powerful oil provides antioxidant protection, strengthens the collagen in the skin, and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and photoaging.
• Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera Root Extract / Withania Somnifera Leaf/Root Extract), also known as winter cherry or Indian ginseng, is one of the important plants in Ayurveda. The plant extract helps protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by environmental influences and can counteract visible signs of stressed skin such as dryness and a dull appearance. Studies with standardized Ashwagandha root extract also show improvements in skin hydration, elasticity, and evenness. The plant compounds it contains are also being studied in connection with oxidative stress and inflammatory processes in the skin. Ashwagandha therefore supports a more resilient, smoother, firmer-looking complexion
  
• Goji berries are packed with antioxidants and amino acids. Goji berries help firm the skin, reduce inflammation, and stimulate circulation.
• Vitamin C is a very powerful antioxidant that helps even skin tone and promotes a balanced complexion. Vitamin C can reduce sun damage and pigmentation and counteract inflammation and skin irritation. It strengthens collagen production and supports a radiant complexion.
• Hemp Seed Oil (Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil) is rich in the essential fatty acids Omega 6 and Omega 3. Hemp oil supports the skin’s natural protective barrier, which prevents bacteria and environmental toxins from penetrating. The skin remains healthy and soft, is optimally moisturized, and looks beautifully smooth. Hemp oil can also help with skin concerns such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and itchy, reddened skin. This is due to the anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antimicrobial effects of, for example, stearic acid. It soothes sensitive and irritated skin, helps pimples and minor wounds heal faster, prevents scarring, and helps prevent skin conditions. Gamma-linolenic acid binds water, creating a plumping effect. The skin looks fuller and fine lines may be reduced.
• Rosehip seed oil, Wild Rose Oil (Rosa Canina Fruit Oil) is obtained from the fruit of the dog rose. It is highly effective in supporting skin regeneration. Rich in Vitamin C, minerals, beta-carotene, flavonoids, and malic acid, it helps with pigmentation and scars, supports skin elasticity, and helps even skin tone. Flaky, mature, and dry skin also benefits from using the oil.
• Retinol, Retinal, and Retinoid are derivatives of Vitamin A, which plays an essential role in cell growth processes. Retinol is converted into retinoic acid in the body and then exerts its effects. The vitamin supports the skin’s regenerative process, stimulates metabolism, and promotes collagen production. Its plumping effect improves skin structure, making the skin appear fuller, smoother, and more even. Retinol increases sensitivity to sunlight and is best used together with UV protection or in the evening.

• Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract) is distilled from the leaves of the tea plant. Green tea has powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps combat acne and breakouts, has cleansing properties, and promotes a clear complexion. It is used to combat premature skin and hair aging, helps minimize pores, and makes the skin look fresher. Green tea also has a soothing effect; it can reduce redness and irritation and relieve itching.

• Turmeric (Kurkuma, Gelbwurz) – has a powerful antibacterial effect and combats germs, bacteria, and viruses on the skin. It is well suited to problematic skin. Turmeric also promotes circulation and regulates sebum production.

Apply Active Infusion Oil after the Hydrate phase (Hydrating Accelerator, Hydration Boost Concentrate) and before the Protection phase (Vital Balm Cream).

Q.) Can I use the AIO on the same days as the Daily Acid Toner?

A.)Yes, you can use AIO in the same routine as Daily Acid Toner - the ingredients in DAT support the efficacy of the Vitamin C and Retinoid in AIO.

Q.) Is AIO safe for sensitive skin conditions?

A.) Yes, AIO is effective and safe for all skin types including sensitive and rosacea conditions.

Q.) What is the percentage of Vitamin C and Retinoid in AIO?

A.) We do not share the percentages of actives. They are at clinical, effective concentrations formulated with supporting ingredients to deliver visible results. For some, results may appear within the first week of use, for others, visible results can be slower and require 4-6 months to see an improvement in texture and skin structure.

Q.) Can I use AIO in the daytime?

A.) Yes, as long as you also use a sunscreen such as our Nutrient Day Cream SPF 30.

Q.) Will AIO thin my skin because of the retinoid?

A.) No, that is a myth. Overall, retinoids actually improve skin health including thickening the living layers of the dermis making the skin’s appearance more plump, smooth, and less wrinkled.

Q.) Can I use AIO if my skin is sensitive to Vitamin C?

A.) It is common for other Vitamin C products to cause irritation when formulated with pure L-ascorbic acid which requires a very low pH, stability concerns, and skin penetration issues that can increase sensitivity. AIO is very well tolerated by even ultra sensitive skin types because it contains an oil-soluble derivative to L ascorbic acid
that is very gentle and effective.

Q.) Can I use AIO if I already use a prescription retinoid such as tretinoin (brand name Retin-A)?

A.) Yes. AIO can be added to a skin care routine that already includes a prescription retinoid such as tretinoin or tazarotene. We recommend you tune into your skin and alternate the products so they are not applied at the same time. For example, use the prescription as directed 3-4 nights a week and add the AIO in the mornings only.

Q.) How quickly will I see results?

A.) You may see an improvement in smoothness and glow within a week. At approximately 12 weeks you can expect to start seeing improvements in skin tone and texture and appearance of fine lines.

Q.) Why are retinoids not recommended for use during pregnancy?

A.) Vitamin A impacts cell turnover, and in theory could have an effect on a baby’s development in utero. No ethical scientific institution would conduct studies on preg-
nant women, so there is no evidence to support or contradict theories in this area. Therefore we err on the side of caution and recommend avoiding Vitamin A and its derivatives during pregnancy.
