Thornapple

Heretic's Thornapple perfume begins with an unusual allure: a bright apple accord, fresh green leaves, and cool cardamom. Saffron adds a dry, slightly leathery warmth, hinting from the very first moment that this fragrance has a dark side.

At the heart, the composition grows richer. Black tea develops a crisp, earthy depth, while ripe, dark plum adds a soft, almost opulent fruitiness. Labdanum and incense layer on warm, resinous, slightly smoky facets. The initial freshness gives way to a mysterious warmth, where fruit, spices, and dark resins come together.

The story behind Thornapple

Thornapple was inspired by jimsonweed (Datura stramonium), a plant that is as fascinating as it is poisonous. Its large, trumpet-shaped flowers open in the evening, while its spiky seed pods seem almost defensive. For centuries, jimsonweed has been associated with stories of witchcraft, magic and altered perception.

For Douglas Little, the plant embodies nature’s wild, untamed side. With Thornapple, he did not want to create a botanically accurate floral fragrance, but to capture the plant’s distinctive tension: its beauty, its dark history and the allure of the forbidden.

This idea runs through the entire fragrance. The bright apple accord represents temptation, while black tea and dark plum lead deeper in, and incense and labdanum add a touch of mystery. The story lingers in the mossy, earthy base.

Important: Thornapple is an olfactory interpretation of jimsonweed. The fragrance contains neither jimsonweed extracts nor ingredients from other poisonous plants.

Heretic Parfum

Heretic Parfum creates distinctive, gender-neutral fragrances with a botanical signature. Founder and perfumer Douglas Little combines botanical raw materials with carefully selected modern aroma molecules. The fragrances are made in small batches at the Los Angeles studio and are free to unfold in their own way with time, warmth and movement.

Thornapple is made with 95% ingredients of natural origin. The composition is based on organic, GMO-free sugarcane alcohol and is vegan and cruelty-free. It contains no added phthalates, parabens, synthetic dyes or formaldehyde.

How to use

• Spray on the insides of the wrists, behind the ears, on the sides of the neck or on the décolleté as needed.
• Let the fragrance develop on the skin and do not rub it in after applying.
• The natural fragrance ingredients develop with body heat and movement. For greater presence, reapply throughout the day as needed.
