Face care: Natural cosmetics for healthy, radiant skin

Good face care is tailored to what your skin needs: light moisture on some days, a richer cream or targeted active ingredients on others. Our selection includes natural cosmetics to cleanse, nourish, and protect, suited to different skin types and needs.

Our face care categories at a glance

      Toners & facial toners

After cleansing, a toner can provide extra moisture, refresh the skin, or help clarify blemish-prone skin. It all depends on the formula - a toner doesn’t have to be part of every skincare routine.

      Face serum

Whether hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, niacinamide, or bakuchiol, serums complement your daily skincare routine with selected active ingredients. Which active ingredient is right for you depends on your skin and the particular formula.

      Face oil

Depending on the variety, plant oils provide different fatty acids and other beneficial components. They can keep skin supple, reduce moisture loss, and give it a beautiful glow. Choose from a range of textures and properties, from argan oil to rosehip oil.

      Face cream

Face creams usually combine water with oils and other nourishing ingredients. They moisturize and can support the skin barrier - from lightweight textures for combination skin to rich creams for dry skin.

      Face balm

Intensive care for demanding skin: Many balms contain a high proportion of oils, waxes, and plant butters. They can provide soothing care, especially for dry or stressed skin, helping to reduce moisture loss.

      Eye care

The skin around the eyes is thin and often sensitive. Eye creams and serums can provide moisture and make fine lines caused by dryness appear smoother. Whether they also visibly reduce dark circles or puffiness depends on the cause and the formula.

      Lip care

Protection for sensitive lips: Since the skin on the lips has no sebaceous or sweat glands, it needs special care. Natural lip balms with waxes and rich oils protect against dryness, nourish intensively, and keep lips supple - also with sun protection for summer.

      Face masks

From moisturizing masks with aloe vera to clay masks for oily skin, face masks complement your daily skincare routine and can be chosen to suit your skin’s needs.

      Night care

Night creams and oils can moisturize dry skin overnight and nourish it with emollient ingredients, leaving skin feeling supple in the morning.

      Beauty tools

Gua sha stones, facial brushes and Kansa wands can complement your skincare routine with a gentle massage. The key is to use light pressure and avoid irritating the skin.

      Facial care with SPF

Essential sun protection: UV radiation is a major contributor to premature skin aging. When used correctly, sunscreen products with suitable UV filters protect against UV radiation. Mineral filters such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide are one option.

      Self-tanners

Self-tanners containing DHA or erythrulose give the skin color without exposing it to UV radiation. Many formulas also contain nourishing plant oils. Important: Self-tanners do not replace sun protection.

Why is facial care so important?

Our facial skin is exposed to numerous stressors every day:

      • UV radiation and sun exposure
      • Environmental pollution and fine particulate matter
      • Dry indoor air from heating and air conditioning
      • Stress and lack of sleep
      • The natural aging process

A well-tailored routine can support the skin barrier, retain moisture and help prevent UV-related skin changes, especially when used with daily sun protection. Skincare can be adapted to your skin's individual condition at any age.

      The ideal facial care routine

A good routine doesn't have to be complicated. You can combine these steps to suit your skin's needs:

      1. Cleansing: Removes makeup, sebum and impurities, and prepares the skin for skincare
      2. Toner: Can hydrate or clarify the complexion, depending on the formula
      3. Serum: Contains skincare ingredients tailored to specific skin needs, depending on the formula
      4. Face oil: Cares for the skin with plant-based oils and can help reduce moisture loss
      5. Cream or balm: Helps reduce moisture loss and care for the skin barrier
      6. Eye care: Special care for the delicate eye area
      7. Sunscreen (morning): Protects against UV radiation and premature skin aging

As a general guide, apply lightweight, water-based textures first, followed by richer products. Not every step is needed daily. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.

Facial care for every skin type

Every skin type has individual needs that should be considered when choosing products:

      Normal skin:
Balanced sebum production and an even complexion. Needs balanced care with moisture and lightweight nutrients. Suitable oils include argan, prickly pear, wild rose and apricot kernel oil.

      Dry skin:
A feeling of tightness, fine pores, and sensitivity to environmental influences. Needs rich care with intense hydration and emollient properties. Evening primrose oil, avocado oil, macadamia nut oil, or sea buckthorn oil are ideal.

      Oily and blemish-prone skin:
Overactive sebaceous glands, enlarged pores, and a tendency toward blemishes. Often benefits from lightweight care with clarifying active ingredients. Whether an oil is suitable depends on the formula and individual tolerance.

      Combination skin:
Oily T-zone, normal to dry cheeks. Needs balanced care or targeted treatment for different areas. Lightweight serums or richer creams may be suitable, depending on the area of the face.

      Sensitive skin:
Reacts quickly to stimuli and is prone to redness and irritation. Needs especially gentle formulas that are individually well tolerated; fragrance-free care may be a good choice.

      Mature skin:
Loss of elasticity, moisture, and firmness; wrinkle formation. Needs intensive care with anti-aging active ingredients, antioxidants, and rich oils such as rosehip oil, cacay oil, or pomegranate oil.

Natural Cosmetics Facial Care: The Power of Nature

Natural cosmetics use a variety of plant-based raw materials and modern cosmetic active ingredients. The INCI list shows which ingredients a specific product contains. It often includes:

      • Plant-based oils, butters, and waxes
      • Moisturizers such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid
      • Plant extracts and antioxidants
      • Essential oils or a fragrance-free formula, depending on the product

Natural fragrances can also trigger reactions in sensitive skin. The choice therefore always depends on skin type and tolerance.

Which facial care is right for my skin?

      • Lightweight moisturizers for oily and combination skin
      • Rich creams and balms for dry skin
      • Gentle, fragrance-free options for sensitive skin
      • Serums with selected active ingredients for specific skin concerns
      • Facial oils with different fatty acid profiles
      • Sun protection as an important step in your daily routine

Special active ingredients in facial care

Natural cosmetics combine classic plant-based active ingredients with modern cosmetic ingredients:

Hyaluronic acid: Binds moisture and can visually soften dryness-related fine lines
Vitamin C: Antioxidant active ingredient; when suitably formulated, it can help promote a more even-looking complexion
Retinol (Vitamin A): Used in effectively formulated products to care for fine lines and uneven skin tone
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Can support the skin barrier and reduce visible shine
Peptides: Depending on the type, used in formulations for skin experiencing loss of elasticity
Bakuchiol: A plant-derived skincare ingredient often offered as an alternative to retinol
Caffeine: Used, among other things, in eye care to reduce a tired appearance
Ferments and prebiotic ingredients: Used to complement skincare focused on the skin barrier

Day vs. night care: the difference

Our skin has different needs at different times of day:

      Day care:

      • A daytime moisturizer with a stated SPF can protect against UV rays
      • Lightweight texture that absorbs quickly
      • Prepares your skin for makeup
      • Without built-in SPF, you’ll need a separate sunscreen
      • Hydrates your skin throughout the day

      Night care:

      • Supports overnight skin renewal
      • Lightweight or rich textures depending on your skin type
      • Can support the skin barrier with nourishing ingredients
      • No UV protection needed
      • Nourishment and hydration overnight

Face masks: Your weekly skincare boost

Add a face mask to your daily routine as needed:

Hydrating masks: With aloe vera, hyaluronic acid or cucumber extract for intense hydration
Cleansing masks: With clay, kaolin or activated charcoal to absorb excess oil
Nourishing masks: With vitamins, peptides and antioxidants for a smooth, supple feel
Soothing masks: With chamomile, calendula or oats for sensitive skin

Tips for the best skincare results

      • Cleanse your skin thoroughly before each skincare step
      • Apply products to skin that is still slightly damp
      • Let your skincare absorb briefly before applying the next layer
      • Apply skincare products to your skin using gentle movements
      • Don’t forget your neck and décolleté
      • Drink enough water and eat a balanced diet
      • Get enough sleep
      • Protect your skin from UV rays every day
      • Adjust your skincare to the seasons and your skin’s needs
