This botanical infusion meets a broad lipid base of olive, sunflower, jojoba, grapeseed, hemp, sesame, apricot kernel, and almond oils. The different fatty acid profiles complement one another: linoleic-rich, lighter oils meet silky wax esters and richer lipids. • Olive, sunflower, and jojoba oils form the foundation of the formula and bring together very different lipids. Olive oil is rich in oleic acid and provides softness, while sunflower oil supplies a high proportion of linoleic acid - a fatty acid that is also important for the natural lipid structure of the stratum corneum. Botanically speaking, jojoba is not a classic oil but a liquid wax made of long-chain wax esters. This gives it a particularly smooth feel and makes its structure similar to components of natural sebum. Together, they create a base that provides rich nourishment without feeling exclusively heavy or occlusive.
• Grapeseed and hemp seed oils add the lighter, particularly linoleic-rich side of the oil complex. • Use morning and/or evening after cleansing and hydrating care.

What is special about an herbal infusion in oil?
With an oil infusion, plants are steeped directly in plant oil for a specific period of time. Depending on the plant, Josh Rosebrook adjusts the temperature, duration, and processing. This allows suitable fat-soluble plant compounds to pass directly into the oil base. This distinguishes a true herbal infusion from a ready-made oil blend to which only a few plant extracts have been added.

What is the difference between the Herbal Infusion Oil and the Active Infusion Oil?
The Herbal Infusion Oil focuses on high-quality plant lipids and herbal infusions and can be used morning and evening. The Active Infusion Oil also contains hydroxypinacolone retinoate and a stable vitamin C derivative, making it more focused on targeted active care for fine lines, skin texture, and signs of aging.

Is the Herbal Infusion Oil also suitable for combination or oily skin?
Yes. A facial oil is not inherently suitable only for dry skin. In addition to richer oils, the Herbal Infusion Oil contains linoleic-rich and lighter lipids such as sunflower, grapeseed, and hemp seed oils. For oilier skin, a very small amount on damp skin is usually sufficient.

Does the oil clog pores?
Individual tolerance of plant oils varies and cannot be reliably predicted using generalized comedogenicity ratings. Josh Rosebrook also designed the formula for blemish-prone skin. However, anyone who reacts very quickly to rich oils should still start with one pump and observe how their own skin responds.

Is the Herbal Infusion Oil suitable for sensitive skin?
The formula is generally designed for sensitive skin as well. However, it contains essential oils of damask rose, rosewood, and geranium, along with their natural fragrance constituents. Very sensitive skin or skin that reacts to essential oils should therefore first test the product on a small area.

Can the oil replace a moisturizer?
That depends on your skin type. Oils primarily provide lipids and help reduce water loss from the skin's surface; however, they add very little water to the skin itself. We therefore recommend applying the Herbal Infusion Oil to slightly damp skin or over a hydrating serum. For dry skin, applying a cream afterward may also be beneficial.

Can I use the Herbal Infusion Oil as a cleansing oil?
Plant oils can dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and other oil-soluble residue. However, the Herbal Infusion Oil is now positioned primarily as a treatment oil and does not contain an emulsifier that would allow it to rinse off milky when it comes into contact with water. For targeted oil cleansing, Essential Balm Cleanse is therefore the more convenient choice.
