The RAAW Alchemy Cleansing Silk is an award-winning all-in-one facial cleanser that removes makeup, mascara, sunscreen and daily impurities in one skincare step. On dry skin, it has a rich, oil-based texture; when combined with water, it transforms into a silky cleansing milk that is easy to remove.

The formula combines the gentle sugar surfactant Sucrose Laurate with almond, kukui, evening primrose, milk thistle and avocado oils. As a result, Cleansing Silk cleanses thoroughly while preserving the skin's natural lipids and leaving it soft and pleasantly nourished. Blue Tansy complements the formula with its soothing properties, making the cleanser particularly interesting for normal, sensitive and redness-prone skin.

Even heavier or waterproof makeup can be dissolved if the cleanser is massaged in for a little longer. As an additional intensive treatment, Cleansing Silk can remain on the skin for five to ten minutes before being emulsified with water and removed.

After cleansing, RAAW Alchemy Blue Drops supply the skin with lightweight plant lipids. On dry or stressed areas of skin, RAAW Alchemy Calming Blue Balm can follow as the final protective skincare step.

RAAW Alchemy founder Trice Christiansen developed Cleansing Silk after the birth of her child: she was looking for an uncomplicated cleanser that would remove makeup and dirt in just one step while leaving the skin soft rather than dry. The manufacturer's product number 1011 recalls the birthday of a former employee who inspired the product's development.

Key ingredients

• Sucrose Laurate: When it comes into contact with water, this gentle sugar surfactant combines the rich plant oils into a silky cleansing milk. It dissolves makeup, sunscreen, excess sebum and everyday impurities and can then be rinsed off easily. Sucrose Laurate also has skin-conditioning and smoothing properties, making it ideal for thorough cleansing without unnecessarily stripping the skin of oil.
• Sweet Almond & Kukui Nut Oil: These two plant oils form the nourishing base of the cleanser and are particularly effective at dissolving oil-soluble impurities such as makeup, sunscreen and excess sebum. Almond oil is rich in oleic acid, while kukui nut oil provides many polyunsaturated fatty acids. Together, they leave the skin soft and supple and help prevent the dry, tight feeling that can occur after more degreasing cleansing.
• Evening Primrose & Milk Thistle Oil: Both oils are rich in linoleic acid; evening primrose oil also provides gamma-linolenic acid. These skin-related fatty acids support the lipid barrier and help the skin retain moisture more effectively. Dry, sensitive or irritation-prone skin in particular benefits from the replenishing care and feels softer and more balanced after cleansing.
• Blue Tansy: This distinctive blue plant oil contains chamazulene, an antioxidant and skin-soothing botanical compound. It helps calm stressed, sensitive and visibly reddened skin and complements cleansing with a balancing skincare component, especially when the skin tends to react sensitively after makeup removal.
• Avocado Oil: This nourishing plant oil is rich in oleic acid and other skin-conditioning lipids. It supports the skin's natural barrier, improves suppleness and helps keep dry or rough skin soft and comfortable after cleansing. It thereby enhances the nourishing balm-to-milk character of Cleansing Silk.
• Glycerin: This proven humectant helps retain water in the upper layer of the skin and supports a soft, smooth skin feel. In combination with the replenishing plant oils, glycerin ensures that the skin feels clean and fresh after cleansing, but not dry or tight.
• Vitamin E: This fat-soluble antioxidant protects skin lipids from oxidative processes and complements the antioxidant protection provided by the plant oils. At the same time, it supports the care of dry and stressed skin and helps preserve its suppleness.

How to use

• Apply two to three pumps to dry skin and gently massage into the face and eye area.
• Dampen your fingertips with a little water and continue massaging until the texture transforms into a silky cleansing milk.
• Then remove with a warm, damp cloth or rinse thoroughly with water.
• For heavier or waterproof makeup, massage the cleanser in for a little longer.
• For an especially nourishing cleanse, leave on for five to ten minutes, then emulsify and remove.
