Active Ingredients

• Squalane is a lightweight, non-comedogenic, and non-greasy oil that leaves skin silky soft. Squalane is a natural component of our skin barrier and is therefore very well absorbed by the skin. It protects the skin from moisture loss and prevents oxidation of the skin’s natural fats. This regenerating oil helps prevent age spots, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, makes the skin supple, and promotes oxygen supply and cell regeneration. It is mostly derived from olive oil, less commonly from rice bran or wheat germ oil. For cosmetics, squalene is converted into squalane. Squalane contains no unsaturated bonds, making it oxidation-resistant and longer-lasting. Interestingly, squalane was originally obtained from shark liver, hence the name. Squalus is the Latin name for shark.
• Pomegranate Seed Oil (Punica Granatum Seed Oil) contains the rare omega-5 fatty acids (punicic acid). These fatty acids have strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The oil supports the fight against free radicals and premature skin aging, can reduce age spots, and promotes collagen synthesis, thus aiding skin regeneration and repair. Additionally, the oil contains secondary plant compounds such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and phytosterols, all of which have strong regenerative effects.
• Ceramides are lipids (fats) naturally found in our skin. They form the basis of the skin’s barrier function. The skin barrier prevents harmful substances from entering the skin and keeps the skin well hydrated. A functioning skin barrier is essential for healthy skin. Ceramides reduce water loss from the skin, also called TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss), protect against environmental stress, bacteria, and other influences the skin is exposed to. Ceramides are therefore an effective anti-aging ingredient that also helps keep the skin soft and smooth.
• Peptides are small proteins made up of several amino acids. There are many different peptides that perform various functions in the body. They are involved in regulating cell growth and repair and the formation of (larger) proteins such as keratin, elastin, or collagen. This makes them a valuable and well-tolerated ingredient in skincare to combat premature skin aging, fine lines, and sagging structures. Some peptides also have anti-inflammatory properties and help reduce blemishes like pimples and blackheads.
• Castor Oil (Ricinus communis seed oil) consists largely of ricinoleic acid, which has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. The oil combats blemishes, moisturizes, improves scar texture, and smooths the skin. Its high vitamin E content also helps fight free radicals and premature skin aging.
• Mandarin Peel Oil (Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin) Peel Oil) is an essential oil extracted from mandarin peel. It is used in skincare to strengthen and generally care for the skin. It also gives the product a fresh citrus scent.
• Seaweed is nutrient-rich and contains important minerals and a variety of vitamins. It reduces redness and inflammation and provides deep hydration to soothe and repair dry and damaged skin. It stimulates collagen production and protects against damage from free radicals.
• Hyaluronic Acid (Hyaluronic Acid / Sodium Hyaluronate) stores moisture up to 1000 times its weight. Hyaluronic acid is a main component of connective tissue, filling and supporting it. Due to its ability to bind large amounts of water, it is responsible for the skin’s moisture content. Hyaluronic acid also promotes skin firmness and elasticity. As we age, we lose our natural hyaluronic acid, which is one of the main causes of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid helps fill in fine lines and plump the skin.
