Key Active Ingredients

• Bakuchiol (1%) is a plant-based slow-aging active ingredient that supports collagen synthesis and helps visibly improve fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture. Clinical studies also show positive effects on hyperpigmentation and signs of photoaging. Bakuchiol is particularly suitable for sensitive skin looking for a well-tolerated alternative to classic retinoids, and is also of interest for blemish-prone skin.
• Squalane is an especially lightweight, skin-compatible lipid that complements the skin's natural protective film. It smooths rough areas, improves suppleness, and helps reduce moisture loss from the skin's surface. This leaves the skin feeling soft and nourished without the oil leaving a heavy or greasy film.
• Pomegranate seed oil is characterized by its high content of punicic acid, a distinctive polyunsaturated fatty acid. This valuable plant oil nourishes dry and demanding skin, makes it supple, and complements bakuchiol with antioxidant and skin-soothing components. Mature skin or skin stressed by external influences particularly benefits from this lipid-rich care.
• Turmeric extract provides curcuminoids and other antioxidant plant compounds. It supports the skin's defense against oxidative stress and complements the formula with soothing properties - beneficial for skin that looks stressed or unsettled.
• Vitamin E & sunflower oil round out the oil composition with antioxidant and lipid-nourishing effects. Vitamin E helps protect skin lipids from oxidative stress while also stabilizing the plant oils it contains. Sunflower oil complements the formula with valuable fatty acids and supports a soft, supple skin feel.

How to use

• The Bakuchiol Oil Serum can be used in the morning and/or evening.
• Cleanse your skin thoroughly.
  
• Moisten your skin with water or a mild toner. The oil serum should always be applied to damp skin, as this allows it to absorb best.
• Apply 4-5 drops of the oil serum to damp skin.
  
• Gently massage in the oil serum. It will be fully absorbed after just a few minutes. Enjoy your silky-soft, radiant skin!
• Unlike retinol, the Bakuchiol Oil Serum does not make the skin photosensitive. Nevertheless, we recommend using sunscreen during the day as usual. 

• Tip
• The Ruhi Bakuchiol Oil Serum is perfect as a facial oil base for a Gua Sha or jade roller massage. It is also ideal for gentle aftercare following face brushing.  
• You can also use the serum as an active-ingredient booster. Simply add a few drops of the oil serum to your favorite skincare product.

• Fragrance
• The oil serum is free from essential oils and other fragrances and smells only of its own ingredients: When applied, it has a pleasantly sweet, nutty scent of cold-pressed pomegranate seed oil. (The squalane, extracts used, and vitamin E are odorless.) The scent quickly fades after application

• Note
• The Bakuchiol Oil Serum contains potent, active plant ingredients in high concentrations. We therefore recommend performing a patch test before incorporating the oil serum into your skincare routine. This allows you to easily rule out an allergic reaction to any of the active ingredients.
• Apply a coin-sized amount of the Bakuchiol Oil Serum to your cheek and wait at least 24 hours. If redness or skin irritation occurs, do not use the oil serum.
• During pregnancy or breastfeeding, please discuss individually with your doctor whether skincare containing bakuchiol can be used.

Bakuchiol - plant-based retinol alternative

The Bakuchiol Oil Serum contains 1% bakuchiol, a vegan plant-based active ingredient valued as a gentle alternative to retinol. Bakuchiol supports smoother, firmer, and more even-looking skin and helps visibly reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation. At the same time, it has antioxidant properties and supports the skin's defense against oxidative stress.

Bakuchiol is obtained from the bakuchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia), which has traditionally been used in Chinese and Ayurvedic herbal medicine. Although bakuchiol is not chemically a retinoid, it influences some similar processes in the skin. Clinical studies show improvements in wrinkles and hyperpigmentation as well as good skin tolerance.

Bakuchiol serum for sensitive skin

Bakuchiol is particularly suitable if you are looking for effective slow-aging skincare but do not tolerate classic retinoids well. In a comparative clinical study, bakuchiol improved visible signs of photoaging similarly to retinol, while causing less flaking and stinging.

Sensitive, dry, or blemish-prone skin can also benefit from bakuchiol. The active ingredient supports a more balanced-looking complexion and can help reduce not only fine lines but also uneven pigmentation and post-blemish marks.
