Usage

• Distribute on washed hair, leave on for a few minutes, and rinse out.
• It can also be applied before washing hair with a minimum leave-in time of 10 minutes.
• Ideal in combination with other products from the SOS Chestnut Hair line for optimal results.
• For deep care of particularly damaged hair, extend the leave-in time and regularly use as a mask before washing hair.

Active Ingredients

• Coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil) protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals and premature skin aging. The high content of lauric acid gives the oil its antifungal and antibacterial properties. Coconut oil is comedogenic but still helps against impurities and is suitable for acne-prone and sensitive skin. It moisturizes and makes the skin supple.
• Hair is mostly made up of keratin protein. Keratin can be affected by environmental influences and external stress. With too little protein, hair appears lifeless and dull and can break. Proteins strengthen hair, can rebuild it, and make it resilient. Proteins help repair the cuticle layer and act as a protective shield for the hair shaft. Proteins combat signs of hair damage such as split ends and excessive dryness.
• Nettle extract (Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract) is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. Nettle is traditionally used to treat eczema, wounds, and even psoriasis. The extracts are rich in vitamins A and E, flavonoids, carotenoids, and sitosterol and help protect the skin from environmental stress. Nettle regulates sebum production.
• Amino acids keep your skin and hair supple. Due to their small size, they easily penetrate the skin and help transport moisture through the skin. They support the production of collagen and elastin and protect the skin from free radicals. Some amino acids act as antioxidants themselves, but most support the skin in producing its own antioxidants.
• Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates and can reduce hyperpigmentation and age spots. It also has the ability to shrink large pores and revive dull, uneven skin tone.
• Flaxseed oil/extract (Linum Usitatissimum (Flax) Seed Extract/Oil) – The high omega-3 content of the oil has anti-inflammatory effects and can suppress outbreaks and soothe irritated, dry skin. The oil locks in moisture and keeps skin and hair hydrated and healthy, which can make skin firmer. It is also attributed with cell-regenerating properties. In hair care, flaxseed nourishes hair follicles and promotes hair growth and elasticity. Fights dry and flaky scalp.
• Arginine is a natural amino acid that stabilizes the skin’s pH and supports the skin’s barrier function. Arginine stimulates blood circulation in skin and hair, can regenerate skin damage, is involved in the formation of muscle cells and collagen, and promotes connective tissue formation. Arginine is also very skin-friendly. We can obtain arginine through food such as peanuts, lentils, salmon, eggs, chicken breast, and pumpkin seeds.
• Squalane (Squalane) is a lightweight, non-comedogenic, and non-greasy oil that leaves skin (or hair) silky soft. Squalane is a natural component of our skin barrier and is therefore very well absorbed by our skin. It protects the skin from moisture loss and prevents oxidation of the skin’s own fats. This regenerating oil prevents age spots, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, makes skin supple, and promotes oxygen supply and cell regeneration. It is mostly derived from olive oil, less commonly from rice bran or wheat germ oil. For cosmetics, squalene is converted into squalane. Squalane contains no unsaturated compounds anymore and is therefore oxidation-resistant and longer-lasting. By the way, squalane was originally obtained from shark liver, hence the name. Squalus is the Latin name for shark.
