Key Active Ingredients

• Goji stem cell extract PhytoCellTec™ Goji (1%) supports skin firmness and elasticity and is particularly interesting for fine lines and reduced resilience. Clinical data are available for the raw material: twice-daily application of 0.4% resulted in reduced wrinkle depth after 56 days and improved skin firmness after just 28 days. RUHI uses the active ingredient at 1%.
• Snow mushroom / Tremella is rich in polysaccharides that strongly bind water and helps the skin retain moisture for longer. This makes dry or dehydrated skin feel plumper, smoother and more supple. Tremella is particularly ideal in a lightweight toner serum because it enables intensive hydration without weighing the skin down with a heavy texture.
• Reishi provides polysaccharides, triterpenes and other antioxidants. This medicinal mushroom supports the skin in protecting itself against oxidative stress and is particularly interesting for sensitive, stressed or mature-looking skin. Current cosmetic research confirms reishi's antioxidant potential and its suitability as a versatile skincare ingredient.
• Willow bark extract contains salicin derivatives and polyphenols and supports a smoother, clearer complexion. It helps gently loosen dead skin cells and can thereby refine rough or uneven-looking skin. Compared with a classic, highly concentrated salicylic acid treatment, this toner serum focuses on a gentle, balancing effect.
• Aloe vera, rose hydrosol & glycerin form the hydrating and soothing base. Glycerin binds water in the stratum corneum, aloe vera promotes a calmer skin feel, and rose hydrosol complements the lightweight care with hydrating and balancing properties. The combination makes the serum particularly pleasant for dry, sensitive or easily tight-feeling skin.
• Arginine is an amino acid and part of the skin's natural moisturizing factor. It supports moisture retention and contributes to a balanced skin feel. At the same time, it helps stabilize the skin-friendly pH of the formula - fitting its function as a combination of toner and serum.

How to Use

At which step of my beauty routine should I use the toner serum?

It is best to use the toner serum before a facial oil or an oil serum. The oil can then optimally lock the moisture from the toner serum into the skin, keeping it intensively moisturized all day or night. The toner serum can be used morning and evening; during the day, it provides a pleasant refreshment in between. It balances the skin's pH and prepares it perfectly for subsequent skincare products.

You can also create a natural emulsion with the toner serum and an oil serum or facial oil. Simply put a few drops of the toner serum and an oil serum or facial oil into the palm of your hand and mix them together. This creates a velvety, lightweight and completely natural emulsion that is easily absorbed by the skin.

The toner serum also works on its own, for example as a super-light, refreshing serum in summer.

Is the toner serum also suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, the toner serum is perfectly suitable for sensitive skin. It is free from drying alcohols, synthetic preservatives and fragrances, essential oils and other potentially irritating ingredients.

TIP: We generally recommend testing a new skincare product on a small area of skin before incorporating it into your skincare routine.

Why do you use a transparent bottle for the toner serum?

The active ingredients used are stable to light and oxidation, so we can use a transparent glass bottle.

How is the price of the Adaptogen Toner Serum determined?

We use state-of-the-art active ingredients in meaningful concentrations
We use innovative biotechnological ingredients with clinically proven efficacy in meaningful concentrations, such as our goji berry stem cell extract, which we use at 1%. These novel active ingredients are very expensive and, if used at all, are often used only in very small quantities. We always use the comparatively high active ingredient concentration recommended by current studies - even if this makes our products more expensive.

We use only effective, natural ingredients of the highest quality: wherever possible, our high-quality natural ingredients are organic or sourced from wild harvesting.

Instead of water, we use high-quality cold-pressed organic oils or, as in our toner serum, organic direct juice from aloe vera and organic rose water. (Our serum contains only tiny amounts of water, as most plant extracts are dissolved in water).

We develop our products ourselves

Our Adaptogen Toner Serum is an innovative in-house development that we worked on for many months in close collaboration with our experienced natural cosmetics laboratory. Developing a product in-house is time-consuming and expensive, which is why many brands rely on cheaper, faster-to-produce prefabricated standard formulas. This is not an option for us, however, because our innovative formulation ideas can only be realized through in-house development.
