The formula combines DHA from sugar cane with aloe vera, plant-based glycerin, cocoa, grape skin extract, coffee, chamomile and witch hazel. Unlike many classic self-tanners, the mousse does not contain synthetic orange-colored dyes. Its warm, slightly citrusy fragrance with orange, mandarin and cocoa also makes application much more pleasant.

Key ingredients

• DHA from sugar cane: Dihydroxyacetone is the actual tanning ingredient in the mousse. It reacts with amino acids in the uppermost layer of the skin and gradually creates an even tan there, without exposing the skin to UV radiation.

• Organic aloe vera & plant-based glycerin: Aloe vera forms the basis of the formula and, together with glycerin, supports a pleasant, cared-for feeling on the skin. This is especially welcome with a quick-drying self-tanning mousse.

• Cocoa & grape skin extract: Cocoa and grape skins provide a variety of naturally occurring antioxidant plant compounds. They complement the tanning formula with nourishing ingredients and suit the product's warm, bronzed character.

• Orange & mandarin: Orange and mandarin oils define the mousse's fresh, warm citrus fragrance. At the same time, the citrus oils add plant-based supporting ingredients to the formulation.

• Coffee, chamomile & witch hazel: Coffee extract adds antioxidant plant compounds to the formula, while chamomile and witch hazel are valued for their skin-nourishing and balancing qualities.

How to use

• For the most even result possible, exfoliate the skin approximately 24–48 hours beforehand. The Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub is particularly suitable for this.
• Cleanse the skin before application and allow it to dry completely. Apply a small amount of lightweight body lotion beforehand to very dry areas such as the knees, elbows, ankles and feet.
• Spread the mousse generously and evenly over the body. This is easiest with a tanning mitt; with Eco By Sonya mousse, use the fluffy side.
• Work it in section by section using circular motions and blend carefully.
• For a more intense and especially even result, a second layer can be applied immediately.
• Leave on for at least one hour. For more intense color development, the mousse can remain on the skin until the next shower or overnight.
• Avoid contact with water and heavy sweating during the development time.
• Wash your hands thoroughly after application or rinse the tanning mitt immediately.
• With appropriate care, the developed tan lasts for several days. Heavy exfoliation and very frequent or intensive cleansing will make it fade more quickly.

Which self-tanner is right for me?

Eco By Sonya self-tanners mainly differ in color intensity, texture and method of application. This makes it possible to choose a tan suited to your own skin tone and to how quickly and intensely you want the result to develop.

Winter Skin is the gentlest and easiest-to-control option. The nourishing body lotion gradually builds the tan with each application and is therefore especially well suited to fair skin, self-tan beginners or a very natural glow. It can also easily refresh an existing vacation or self-tan.

Invisible Tan creates a visible, warm and golden tan after just one application. The rich cream feels like a nourishing body lotion and is particularly well suited to medium to olive skin tones and drier skin. Ideal if you want to apply it in the evening and wake up more tanned the next morning.

Cacao Tanning Mousse is the right choice if you prefer the lightweight, quick-drying texture of a mousse. It develops a medium to more intense, warm bronze tan and spreads particularly quickly over larger areas of the body – uncomplicated when you want a more noticeable result but still prefer a lightweight texture.

Hempitan Body Tan Water is the most intense option in the range. The ultra-light spray dries almost instantly and develops a deep, longer-lasting bronze tan, without feeling like a cream or mousse on the skin. Particularly suitable if you want a darker tan and as little product feel as possible.

For the face, neck and décolleté, we recommend Face Tan Water. The featherlight, non-comedogenic toner texture can be applied directly and the color can be gradually built up as desired – from a light sun-kissed glow to a more visible tan.

Yes. Eco By Sonya recommends the mousse for all skin tones. With very fair skin, it is advisable to begin with one even layer and build up the desired intensity further as needed.

How long does the self-tanning mousse need to develop?

How long does the tan last?

Depending on the skin, preparation and care, the tan generally lasts around five to seven days. Regular exfoliation, very frequent showers and intensive cleansing can cause it to fade more quickly.

Will the mousse make my skin orange?

Cacao Tanning Mousse contains no synthetic orange-colored dyes. The actual tan develops through DHA in the upper layer of the skin and becomes a warm Caramel-Bronze shade. The individual result always also depends on your own skin tone and application.

Does the self-tan protect against the sun?

No. A tan created with DHA does not replace sunscreen and does not provide reliable protection against UV radiation. Additional suitable sun protection should be used when exposed to the sun.
