What distinguishes this cleanser is its exceptionally elaborate supporting formula for a rinse-off product. Broccoli seed, jojoba, baobab, hemp, borage, argan, sea buckthorn, avocado, and evening primrose oils are combined with a broad blend of herbs and plant extracts. Despite the oils, the product remains a water-based cleanser and rinses off completely. Key Ingredients

• Aloe Vera appears first in the formula, replacing a large portion of the conventional water base. Aloe is rich in polysaccharides, which bind water and form a fine film on the skin. This is particularly interesting in a cleanser because the skin comes into contact with moisture-supporting ingredients while it is being washed and may feel less dry afterward.
• Saponified Coconut Oil (Sodium Cocoate) performs the actual cleansing work. Saponification creates cleansing molecules that bind fats and water-soluble impurities together and remove them from the skin when rinsed away. This allows the Complete Moisture Cleanse to dissolve excess sebum and makeup while developing its fine lather during massage.
• Honey and vegetable glycerin are two classic humectants with different strengths. Glycerin attracts water and supports its retention in the outermost layer of the skin. • Broccoli seed oil is an unusual ingredient for a facial cleanser. Jojoba consists primarily of supple wax esters, while hemp, borage, and evening primrose oils contain a high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids, and sea buckthorn contains characteristic carotenoids and tocopherols. Since this is a cleanser, the focus is less on intensive lipid replenishment than on an pleasantly nourished skin feel during and after cleansing.
• Turmeric, rosemary, sage, and goji add various polyphenols, carotenoids, and other antioxidant plant compounds to the complex herbal base. Turmeric and rosemary in particular are distinguished by their broad spectrum of secondary plant compounds. In a rinse-off product, these botanicals should not be assessed like highly concentrated leave-on actives – but they beautifully demonstrate Josh Rosebrook's unusually elaborate formulation approach.
• Marshmallow, calendula, and licorice complement the plant blend with soothing and moisture-supporting components. Marshmallow is rich in natural mucilage, calendula provides flavonoids and carotenoids, and licorice contains characteristic flavonoids, among other compounds. They are especially well suited to a cleanser intended for sensitive skin prone to feelings of tightness.

How to Use

• In the morning and evening, apply a small amount of Complete Moisture Cleanse to the face and neck with clean hands.
• Massage in with gentle circular movements.
• Then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
• For the classic Josh Rosebrook application, the cleanser can first be distributed over dry skin and then emulsified with a little water or the Hydrating Accelerator.
• For heavier or waterproof makeup, double cleansing is recommended: first use an oil- or balm-based cleanser, then cleanse again with the Complete Moisture Cleanse.
• For the first cleansing step, for example, use the Essential Balm Cleanse.

FAQ

Is the Complete Moisture Cleanse a foaming cleanser?
It is best described as a gel cleanser with light foaming. The cleansing base of saponified coconut oil creates a fine lather when massaged with water, without the product having the typical airy texture of a classic foaming cleanser.

Is the cleanser also suitable for dry skin?
Yes. Aloe vera, honey, glycerin, and an unusually broad blend of plant oils complement the cleansing component. Dry or dehydrated skin in particular benefits from the formula not being designed solely for maximum degreasing.

Is it also suitable for oily or blemish-prone skin?
Yes. The Complete Moisture Cleanse removes excess sebum and rinses off completely with water. The oils it contains therefore do not automatically make it a heavy cleanser. Combination and oilier skin can also use it very well.

Does the Complete Moisture Cleanse remove makeup?
It can effectively remove light to normal makeup. For heavy, waterproof makeup or multiple layers of sunscreen, we recommend double cleansing with an oil- or balm-based cleanser as the first step.

What does pH-balanced mean?
It means that the cleanser is formulated to cleanse as gently as possible without unnecessarily disrupting the skin's natural acid mantle. We deliberately would not refer to this as “pH-neutral” – that is not the same as a pH adapted to the skin.

Why does a rinse-off cleanser contain so many plant oils?
The oils are not intended to remain on the skin long term like a facial oil. Rather, they change the sensory feel of cleansing, help dissolve oil-based impurities, and contribute to the skin feeling less dry and stripped after rinsing.

Is the Complete Moisture Cleanse vegan?
