The ritual

Dry brushing, also called Gharsana, is an important part of the millennia-old Indian healing science Ayurveda. The goal of dry brushing in Ayurveda is to move lymph fluid toward the heart. This is intended to direct stored toxins and metabolic waste to the liver and kidneys for elimination.

Face brushing / facial massage is based on the same effects as classic dry brushing. The massage stimulates lymph flow and blood circulation. Old, dead skin cells are removed and toxins are flushed out. The skin is optimally supplied with oxygen again and the production of new, healthy skin cells is stimulated. The dullness disappears, revealing fresh, healthy, and radiant skin.

How to use

• Preparation: Always start the massage on clean, dry skin. Use light brush strokes with 3 - 5 repetitions on each side of the face.
• Eyes: Brush gently around the eyes and eyebrows in circular motions.
• Cheeks and chin: Brush gently on the chin and upwards toward the hairline. Stroke from the mouth and nose toward the ears.
• Forehead: Place the brush in the middle of the forehead and brush horizontally toward the temples. Between the eyebrows, stroke upward with short brush strokes.
• Neck: Start at the base of the neck and stroke upward toward the chin.
• Done! Now apply your favorite skincare product and enjoy silky soft and radiant skin.
• Cleaning & care: After each use, tap the ruhi brush on a hard, flat surface to remove skin flakes. The brush is not suitable for cleaning with water. Do not store the brush near heat sources (heaters). Store the brush in a dry place.

Good to know: The higher price of the Vegan Facial Dry Brush results from the comparatively high costs of the innovative, plant-based cellulose bristles. These costs are many times higher than those for animal-based bristles or vegan bristles made from nylon/plastic due to the complex manufacturing process.
