• Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera Root Extract / Withania Somnifera Leaf/Root Extract), also known as winter cherry or Indian ginseng, is one of the important plants in Ayurveda. The plant extract helps protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by environmental factors and may counteract visible signs of stressed skin, such as dryness and a dull appearance. Studies with standardized ashwagandha root extract also show improvements in skin hydration, elasticity, and evenness. The plant compounds it contains are also being studied in connection with oxidative stress and inflammatory processes in the skin. Ashwagandha therefore supports a more resilient, smoother, firmer-looking complexion.
• Murumuru butter (Astrocaryum murumuru seed butter) is obtained from the seeds of the murumuru palm. Used by indigenous peoples in the Amazon for centuries, the butter provides abundant moisture and soothes dry, cracked, and sensitive skin. With an effective composition of essential fatty acids and provitamin A, murumuru helps restore the elasticity of mature and damaged skin. The butter also has powerful antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, penetrates the skin quickly, and leaves it feeling smooth and velvety soft.
• Betaine (Betaine, Betain, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Trimethylglycin, Glycinbetain ) is a natural amino acid derivative obtained from sugar molasses (e.g., sugar beet). Depending on its form, betaine is used in skincare or as a surfactant. In skincare, betaine has a conditioning effect, soothes irritation, and protects against dryness. It has highly moisturizing properties.
• Hibiscus (Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis Flower Powder / Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract) has also been called the “Botox plant” because of its firming and lifting properties for the skin. Hibiscus contains natural AHA, which can accelerate cell renewal, gently exfoliate the skin, and help control acne breakouts. Hibiscus strengthens elasticity, promotes regeneration, and moisturizes skin and hair, while the presence of anthocyanins helps make pores appear smaller due to its astringent properties.

• Lotus flower/seed extract (Lotus Flower (Nelumbo Nucifera)) is rich in vitamins and contains proteins, tannins, and flavonoids. The plant helps combat oxidative stress and improves the skin’s hydration. Lotus has a balancing and soothing effect, normalizes sebum production, strengthens the skin barrier, and thereby protects against harmful environmental stressors. This beautiful aquatic plant was used in ancient India for queens’ beauty baths and has a long tradition in Asia as an active ingredient in medicine and cosmetics.
• Squalane or squalane oil (Squalane) is a lightweight, non-comedogenic, non-greasy oil that leaves skin silky soft. Squalane is a natural component of our skin barrier and is therefore readily absorbed by our skin. It protects the skin from moisture loss and prevents the oxidation of the skin’s own oils. This restorative oil helps prevent age spots, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, softens the skin, and promotes oxygen supply and cell regeneration. It is usually derived from olive oil, and less commonly from rice bran or wheat germ oil. For cosmetic use, squalene is converted into squalane. Squalane no longer contains unsaturated compounds and is therefore oxidation-resistant and has a longer shelf life.
• Hyaluronic acid (Hyaluronic Acid / Sodium Hyaluronate) can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in moisture. Hyaluronic acid is a major component of connective tissue; it fills and supports connective tissue. Because of its ability to bind large amounts of water, it contributes to the skin’s moisture content. Hyaluronic acid also promotes skin firmness and elasticity. As we age, we lose our natural hyaluronic acid, which is one of the main causes of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid helps fill fine lines and plump the skin.
• Sarsaparilla root, also known as Hemidesmus indicus, is a plant that has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine. In Ayurvedic practice, sarsaparilla root is valued for its many health benefits. It is traditionally used to support detoxification, liver health, and skin health.
• Punarnava root, botanically known as Boerhavia diffusa, is an important plant in Ayurvedic medicine. In Ayurvedic practice, punarnava root is valued for its many health benefits. It contains bioactive compounds such as punarnavosides, alkaloids, and flavonoids, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-soothing properties.
