Application

• Every hair is different: Straight, curly, thin, or thick hair – besides these natural structural characteristics of your hair, previous care is also decisive for the color result. Chemically treated and bleached hair is usually very stressed, dry, and brittle. If you are unsure about the structure and possible color uptake, you should start with a test coloring and a significantly shortened processing time of 30 minutes to assess your hair’s reaction to plant-based hair colors.
• Recommended water temperature: 50°C
  
• Recommended water amount: For example, 25g of Golden Walnut Brown requires 60ml of water (the consistency should be creamy)
  
• Special additives: If you want a more intense color result, we recommend using espresso or black tea instead of water for dark tones.
• Recommended processing time for Golden Walnut Brown: Depending on the desired color intensity, between 30 and 60 minutes (IMPORTANT: The color result becomes more intense the longer the color is left on!) Keep the hair covered with a coloring cap during the entire processing time.

General procedure:

Step 1: Brush massage

A gentle cleansing is the first step to a healthy scalp with strengthened, shiny hair. For this, we recommend brushing with our wild boar bristle brush, also called a brush massage. The wild boar bristles resemble the structure of human hair. Metal and plastics stress the hair, while real bristles protect skin and hair. Additionally, real bristles gently remove deposits, absorb oils, and carefully cleanse the scalp without attacking the natural acid mantle. This allows subsequent products to be better absorbed. If the scalp is burdened and sealed with silicones, for example from dry shampoo or styling products, care and active ingredients cannot be properly absorbed. Regardless of coloring with Healing Herbs Hair Color, we recommend performing the brush massage daily. For curly hair, we advise brushing with the wild boar bristle brush only before washing hair. For extensions, we do not recommend the wild boar bristle brush. For everyone else, it is a real treat and the key to a healthy scalp and long-term strong hair.

Step 2: Preparation

To free your hair from deposits, silicones, and conventional styling products, we recommend a thorough pre-cleansing of the scalp and your hair. Please use a silicone-free shampoo. We recommend using the Scalp & Hair Detox Mask by Noelie for deep cleansing afterwards. Do not use conditioner or treatment after washing your hair, as this reduces your hair’s absorption capacity.

Step 3: Mix hair color

Prepare a bowl, a whisk (non-metallic), gloves, and warm water. Shake your color jar vigorously before use so that the color pigments mix optimally. Stir the shade Golden Walnut Brown with 50°C warm water in the bowl until a smooth, creamy texture forms. The Healing Herbs are now ready to be applied.

Step 4: Apply hair color

Place a towel over your shoulders. Using a brush, apply the color evenly and quickly to towel-dried hair from roots to ends, section by section. Let the shade Golden Walnut Brown process for 30 to 60 minutes depending on the desired color intensity. Please cover the hair with a coloring cap during the entire processing time. For optimal gray coverage at the roots, first color the roots and apply the remaining color to lengths and ends 15 minutes before rinsing. For full coloring of gray hair, apply the color evenly from roots to ends in one step. Please observe the processing time.

Step 5: Rinse & seal color

After the processing time, rinse the color thoroughly with lukewarm water until clear. Do not use shampoo now so that the color pigments can fully develop in the hair. As a perfect finish, we recommend the Intense Repair & Glossing Treatment by Noelie, a protein treatment for 30-60 minutes that rebuilds the hair’s deep structure, seals the pigments, and makes the color last longer. Afterwards, please use a conditioner or hair mask.
