The Popcorn Matcha from Cosmic Dealer is a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese genmaicha. Finely ground sencha green tea is combined with roasted rice and high-quality ceremonial-grade matcha. The result is a pleasantly mild, full-bodied blend with fresh green tea notes, rich umami, and a warm, slightly nutty finish that is somewhat reminiscent of freshly roasted popcorn.

The organic matcha comes from Kyushu, Japan and is traditionally stone-milled from high-quality first-harvest tencha leaves. The three renowned Japanese tea cultivars Okumidori, Yabukita, and Asahi are used, giving the blend depth, delicate sweetness, and its balanced green tea character.

The recipe uses just three ingredients: organic sencha, organic rice, and ceremonial-grade organic matcha. The roasted rice softens the more pronounced green tea notes and gives the blend its characteristic, warm roasted flavor. It contains no artificial or added natural flavors, fillers, or unnecessary additives.

All ingredients come from Japan and are processed there by a Japanese tea master from a family-run tea house that has been operating since 1865 consists. Each matcha batch is also tested in the laboratory for heavy metals.

Taste

Preparation

• For one serving, place 2 g Popcorn Matcha in a matcha bowl or large cup.
• Pour in approximately 60–70 ml of hot, no longer boiling water.
• Stir until smooth and slightly frothy using a matcha whisk or milk frother.
• Then top up with more water or warm or cold milk.
• This blend tastes especially harmonious with oat or coconut drink.
• Serve with ice cubes and cold plant-based milk to make an Iced Popcorn Matcha Latte.
