The Retinol Restorative Overnight Balm combines the regenerative properties of retinol with intensely lipid-rich care. The water-free texture forms a protective balm on the skin, reduces moisture loss, and supplies particularly dry and demanding skin with valuable plant oils overnight.

Retinol supports skin renewal and, with regular use, can visibly reduce fine lines, rough skin texture, and an uneven complexion. The stable, oil-soluble vitamin C derivative Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate has antioxidant properties and promotes a clearer, more radiant appearance. Vitamin E also protects against oxidative stress and supports the skin barrier.

Does the balm really contain retinol?
Yes. In the current INCI list, retinol is explicitly listed as a vitamin A active ingredient. However, a specific concentration should not be stated unless the manufacturer clearly explains what its percentage refers to.

How often should the retinol balm be used?
If you have not used retinol before, begin with one or two evenings per week. If well tolerated, usage can be gradually increased. Daily use is not necessary for every skin type.

Can the balm help with dark spots?
Retinol and the vitamin C derivative Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate can gradually reduce an uneven skin tone and the appearance of light-induced pigmentation changes. Consistent daily sun protection is essential for this.

Can I use a serum under the balm?
Yes. A hydrating or soothing serum can be applied first. The balm follows as the final skincare step and helps seal in moisture. However, other retinoid products should not be used simultaneously on the same area of skin.

Can I combine the balm with vitamin C?
The balm already contains an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative. An additional vitamin C serum is therefore not essential. Very sensitive skin should avoid using too many active ingredients in a single routine.

Does the balm contain beeswax or essential oils?
No. The current formula contains sunflower wax instead of beeswax and is free from essential oils and added fragrances.

Is the balm suitable for sensitive skin?
The short, fragrance-free formula may generally also be of interest for more sensitive skin. However, retinol can cause redness, dryness, or flaking. Therefore, use should be introduced slowly and the skin’s reaction monitored carefully.

Must sunscreen be used the following morning?
Yes. When using retinol, sunscreen with at least SPF 30 should be applied in the morning - even in cloudy weather and with only occasional use.

Can the balm be used during pregnancy?
No. As a precaution, products containing retinol should not be used during pregnancy or when trying to conceive. During breastfeeding, consult a doctor.
