Peach Freesia - Smooth & Hydrate Shampoo 340 ml

The Peach Freesia Smooth & Hydrate Shampoo was developed for frizzy, dehydrated hair. The formula gently cleanses, helps rebalance moisture levels, and makes hair smoother, softer, and easier to comb.

The Smooth & Hydrate line is based on Hydresia™, a bioactive derived from safflower seeds. The oleosomes contained within are a plant-based alternative to silicones: they release moisture gradually, smooth the hair fiber, hydrate the scalp and hair strands, and help specifically calm frizz. This focus is complemented by moisture-binding agents and botanical extracts that hydrate dry hair fibers and reduce frizz.

• Hydresia™ from safflower oleosomes is the bioactive core of the line. The oleosomes deliver moisture gradually, smooth the hair fiber, hydrate the scalp and lengths, and target frizzy, moisture-deficient hair directly.
• Plant-based hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and betaine form the moisture-binding part of the formula. These humectants attract moisture, retain it in the hair, and support hydration of the scalp and hair.
• Mamaku Black Fern complements the formula with moisturizing, balancing plant care. The New Zealand fern supports scalp health and improves the feel of frizzy, moisture-deficient hair.
• Marula oil, cupuaçu butter, and hydrolyzed jojoba esters enrich the shampoo with nourishing emollients that soften hair, improve combability, and enhance shine.
• Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Lauryl Glucoside, and Decyl Glucoside are plant-based cleansing agents that effectively remove dirt, oil, and residues without drying out or stressing the scalp and hair.

Study data confirms effectiveness: In an in-vivo consumer study with over 600 participants, 154 people used Peach Freesia Shampoo and Conditioner. After two weeks, 82% described their hair as smoother, 90% as softer, and 80% as more hydrated. These results refer to the combined use of shampoo and conditioner. The study was commissioned by Antipodes.

The fragrance profile combines freesia and Japanese white peach with vanilla bean and a subtle accent of star anise. The shampoo smells floral-fruity, soft, and fresh.

Active Ingredients

• Hydresia™ from safflower oleosomes (derived from the seeds of the safflower) is the bioactive core of the line. The oleosomes deliver moisture gradually, smooth the hair fiber, hydrate the scalp and lengths, and target frizzy, moisture-deficient hair directly.
• Manuka honey (Mel / Honey / Leptospermum mel (manuka honey) extract) – Due to its uniquely high methylglyoxal (MGO) content, Manuka honey has particularly anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. Natural honey is antiseptic and antimicrobial, helping to cleanse the skin and thoroughly eliminate bacteria. Honey contains gluconic acid, a mild alpha-hydroxy acid that brightens and fades age spots. Raw honey is enriched with a variety of nutrients such as vitamin B, manganese, iron, potassium, and calcium. When mixed with water, honey releases peroxide properties that help heal acne and inhibit bacterial growth. Additionally, honey is a humectant that supplies moisture to the skin and provides it with a wealth of nutrient-rich enzymes.
• Coconut protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals and premature skin aging. Its high lauric acid content gives the oil its antifungal and antibacterial properties. Coconut oil is comedogenic but still helps with blemishes and is suitable for acne-prone and sensitive skin. It moisturizes and makes the skin supple.
• Mamaku or Black Fern (Cyathea medullaris (Mamaku Black Fern) Leaf Extract) has been used for centuries in traditional Maori herbal medicine (Rongoa) for healing and soothing. The nutrient-rich Mamaku fern acts as an antioxidant and contains mucopolysaccharides that have soothing and moisturizing properties. Mamaku is also said to stimulate collagen and elastin cell production and promote healthy cell regeneration.
• Betaine (Betaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Trimethylglycine, Glycine Betaine) is a natural amino acid derivative obtained from sugar molasses (e.g., sugar beet). Depending on its form, betaine is used in skincare or as a surfactant. In skincare, betaine conditions, soothes irritation, and protects against dryness. It has strong moisturizing properties. In cleansing products, it stabilizes foam; as an additive in shampoos and conditioners, it strengthens hair, adds volume, and improves hair grip.
• Marula oil (Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) seed/kernel oil) is quickly absorbed by the skin, acts as a replenishing and moisture-binding agent, and contains valuable nutrients such as vitamin E (tocopherol) and vitamin C as well as essential fatty acids. The fatty acid mix combined with its high antioxidant content makes it an excellent beauty oil. In haircare, it is valued for its softening and shine-enhancing properties.
• Glycerin – This sugar alcohol is part of the skin’s natural moisture system. Lipids (fats) in the skin are made up of glycerin and fatty acids. Glycerin has a hydrating effect and helps prevent water loss. It also stabilizes the skin’s barrier function.
• Cupuaçu butter (Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter) – The cupuaçu tree is related to cacao, as both belong to the Theobroma genus. Cupuaçu butter is intensely moisturizing and strengthens the skin barrier with oleic acid, palmitic acid, arachidic acid, and phytosterol. Its high antioxidant content also helps fight free radicals. It has a soothing effect and is very suitable for sensitive skin.
• Hyaluronic acid (Hyaluronic Acid / Sodium Hyaluronate) retains moisture up to 1000 times its weight. Hyaluronic acid is a main component of connective tissue, filling and supporting it. Due to its ability to bind large amounts of water, it is responsible for the skin’s moisture content. Hyaluronic acid also promotes skin firmness and elasticity. As we age, we lose our natural hyaluronic acid, which is a major cause of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid helps fill fine lines and plump the skin.
