The Soft Dry Brush is the perfect complement to the classic Dry Brush. With extra-soft natural bristles, sensitive body areas such as the décolleté, stomach, or upper arms can be brushed gently yet effectively.

Why dry brushing?

Dry brushing is an ancient Ayurvedic healing method that offers numerous positive effects for your well-being and health:

The ruhi Soft Dry Brush with extra-soft bristles was specially developed for dry brushing sensitive body areas such as the décolleté or stomach. At the same time, the bristles are densely embedded in the brush, making the massage effective and stimulating. The Soft Dry Brush is slightly smaller than the classic Dry Brush.

It is made from 100% natural bristles and oiled, regional beech wood from responsibly managed forests. It does not shed and contains no plastic parts. The practical elastic rubber band is Öko-Tex Standard 100 certified. The Soft Dry Brush is sustainably and traditionally manufactured in Germany.

The ritual

Dry brushing, also called Gharsana, is an important part of the millennia-old Indian healing science Ayurveda. The goal of dry brushing in Ayurveda is to move lymph fluid toward the heart. This is intended to direct stored toxins and metabolic waste to the liver and kidneys for elimination.

Dry brushing also plays an important role in German health teachings. The treatment was popularized by the famous healer Sebastian Kneipp in the 19th century. Regular dry brushing was mainly intended to prevent colds and infectious diseases.

How to use

• Always start with the body parts farthest from the heart. Use light, even brushing strokes slowly working toward the center of the body. Repeat steps 3–5 times.
• Legs: Start the massage at the feet and brush upward toward the lower legs. From there, continue brushing to the thighs and up to the buttocks.
• Arms: Start on the back of the hands and brush upward along the arms to the shoulders.
• Stomach & back: Brush in circular motions clockwise over the stomach following the path of the intestines. Start at the right side of the lower abdomen and brush upward to the ribs. Then brush horizontally to the left and back down. Now brush the back over the sides in a circular motion.
• Done! Now is the ideal time for a shower to remove dead skin flakes. Afterwards, apply your favorite body oil and enjoy silky smooth, radiant skin!
• Cleaning & care: After each use, tap the ruhi brush on a hard, flat surface to remove skin flakes. The brush is not suitable for cleaning with water. Do not store the brush near heat sources (radiators). Store the brush in a dry place.
