Active Ingredients

• Ginseng is also called “the all-healing herb,” “the root of strength,” or “the root of life.” This small root is difficult to cultivate and grows very slowly. Red and white ginseng are the same plant: Panax Ginseng. Freshly harvested white ginseng is treated with hot water vapor. This gives the red ginseng its characteristic reddish color. The ginseng, which has become glassy and transparent, is then dried and further processed. What makes red ginseng special is that it is both stimulating and skin-protective. The use of red ginseng is particularly recommended for unbalanced and dry skin. The Red Ginseng Facial Soap contains precious red ginseng in double concentration, as extract and powder.
• Coconut oil—also called coconut fat because of its solid consistency below 23 °C—is obtained from the flesh of the coconut. Coconut oil is very rich in lauric acid and saturated fatty acids. Lauric acid has a strong antimicrobial effect. The oil absorbs quickly and superficially while replenishing lipids effectively. Coconut oil is one of our base oils for all BINU soaps.
• Olive oil was used in ancient Greece to care for dry skin. It is considered to stimulate circulation and have a revitalizing effect. Olive oil has a high oleic acid content, which provides protective and moisturizing benefits. The oil leaves a light film and is gradually absorbed by the skin. It is therefore excellent for dry and rough skin. Olive oil is one of our base oils for soap production.
• Shea butter is obtained from the nut of the shea tree. This rich butter nourishes the skin through its lipid-replenishing, soothing, and smoothing properties. It is therefore recommended for dry and stressed skin. Shea butter provides consistency in the mild Binu soaps.
• To make our natural soaps, we use particularly pure hinoki water, the aqueous solution of the steam distillate from hinoki wood. This Japanese cypress species is rich in phytoncides. Plants produce these substances to keep pathogens and pests away. These antimicrobial active ingredients can also be highly beneficial to the skin’s protective system.
