"Hi! I’m Adriana Ayales, an herbalist from the rainforest, naturopath, educator, and the founder of Anima Mundi. I was born and raised in Costa Rica and have studied various healing traditions alongside herbal experts and shamans for over 13 years. I founded Anima Mundi Herbals in Brooklyn, New York, to build a bridge between ancient remedies and the modern world. I am passionate about integrating the rich herbal knowledge of the indigenous peoples of Central and South America into today’s world, and I want to create a sustainable plant apothecary focused on the wholeness of the human being.
We offer a wide range of adaptogens, elixirs, and herbs from around the world, drawn from various traditions I have studied over the years, such as those of rainforest tribes, Ayurveda, Chinese Daoist medicine, and European-style alchemy. I believe that by preserving these ancient forms of native botany, we keep a sacred aspect of our origins alive. Anima Mundi was founded to make ancient healing traditions and herbal active ingredients available as a form of basic health care for today’s world.
Our Anima Mundi Herbals Apothecary has now grown to include over 200 different herbs from around the world, providing holistic doctors, naturopaths, spas, hotels, and boutiques with trusted, tested, and well-founded plant remedies. We believe in sustainable growth, from the origin of the plants we use to our business practices. Anima Mundi promotes fair trade practices that benefit small farmers and communities.
The company is family-owned, committed to the highest manufacturing standards, and produced in an FDA-registered and cGMP-certified facility.
